Antibiotics:
1) An antibiotic is a drug that kills bacteria or stops it from increasing the number.
2) Antibiotics are chemical agents that are used to treat bacterial infection.
3) Antibiotic have no action on viral infections, such as flue or the common cold.
Vaccine:
1) A vaccine is a substance prepared to produce immunity against a disease by stimulating the production of antibodies in the body.
2) Vaccine are used to prevent infection particularly viral infections.

Addiction:
Ø A condition in which a person become dependent on a specific drug like morphine and heroin etc.
Ø These drug change the chemistry of brain if they are continuously used.
Ø Actually the uncontrollable desire for a specific drug is called addiction.
Ø A person becomes addicted when he / she use such drugs which relax them and relieve their pain.
Ø Without that drug they feel tense and tortured.
Analgesic (pain killer):
An analgesic is a medicine that relieves pain like headaches, sore muscles, arthritis or any number of other aches and pains.
Many analgesic ( pain killer) drugs based on two naturally occurring drugs i.e aspirin and opiates.
Antibiotic:
Antibiotics are medicines that cue diseases by killing bacteria or by stopping their growth. The first antibiotic was penicillium. Today over 100 different antibiotics are available to cure infections.
Sedatives:
Sedative are the drug that slow down the brain functions. Sedative block the brain chemicals that conduct communication between brain cells.
Common sedatives are Phenobarbital and diazepam.
Bactericidal antibiotics:
Bactericidal is a type of antibiotic that kills bacteria.
Bacteriostatic antibiotics:
1) Bacteriostatic antibiotic prevent the growth and reproduction of bacteria.
2) Bactericidal antibiotics inhibit the cell wall formation of bacteria. But bacteriostatic antibiotics inhibit DNA replication and protein synthesis of bacteria.
3) Bactericidal antibiotics do not work with the immune system of the host.
But bacteriostatic antibiotics work with the immune system of the host, in order to prevent the growth and reproduction of bacteria.

Bacteriostatic antibiotics:
1) Tetracyclines 2) Spectinomycin etc
Narcotics: Narcotics are drugs which relive pain induce sleep and cause dullness to sense. Narcotics works on brain and spinal cord (CNS).
Examples: Morphine, Codeine, Heroin, methadone etc.
