The Punjab Education Commission (PEC) was established in 2005 by the Punjab province government. One of the key duties of PEC is to organize timely, fair and transparent examination of 5th and 8th class in all 36 districts of Punjab. It organized 5th class annual examinations for the first time in 2006 and since then it has continued to perform this duty with efficiency and accuracy.
