Eligibility Criteria:

  • For BS (SE) (CS) (IT) 4-Years Programs ICS / F.Sc. Pre-Engineering / F.Sc. Pre-Medical with additional Math./A-Level with Math or DAE Diploma
  • For M.Sc CS/GIS Program BCS(3years)/B.Com/ B.A/ B.Sc with elective Mathematics or Computer Studies.
  • For M.Phil Computer Science M.Sc (CS), M.Sc (IT) / BS/(Hons.) with Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Software Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Information Systems/ Bioinformatics/ Electrical Engineering/ Business and Information Technology (BBIT) Degree or its equivalent in the relevant subject from a recognized University (at least 16 year of education; 130 credit hours) as per Higher Education Commission (HEC) rules.
  • For M.Phil Remote Sensing and GIS M.Sc (GIS), M.Sc (CS), M.Sc (IT) / BS/(Hons.) with Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Software Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Information Systems/ Bioinformatics Degree or its equivalent in the relevant subject from a recognized University (at least 16 year of education; 130 credit hours) as per Higher Education Commission (HEC) rules.
  • For Ph.D Computer Science
    MS/M.Phil/M.Sc. (Engg/Hons.) with Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Software Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ Information Systems/ Bioinformatics Degree or its equivalent in the relevant subject from a recognized University (at least 18 year of education) with minimum CGPA > 3.00/4.00 as per Higher Education Commission (HEC) rules
  • 50 percent marks are mandatory for academic qualification otherwise candidate will not be able to appear in the written test.

Required Documents for BS Admission:

Students that have appeared in the merit lists of BS CS / IT / SE Admission Fall 2020 are required to submit the following documents (original) in Admission Office and take challan form for dues submission .

  • Matric
  • Intermediate
  • Undertaking Form (Take a Print out of this form on Rs 50/- Stamp paper, duly attested by
  • Magistrate / Grade-1 civil judge)
  • NOC for candidates of all boards other then Lahore Board and Federal Board.
  • Medical Certificate ( on letter head of Registered medical Physician)
  • 4 Pictures with blue background
  • Hafiz Quran Certificate (if candidate is Hafiz-e-Quran)

Required Documents for MSc Admission:

  • Matric
  • Intermediate
  • Graduation
  • Undertaking Form (Take a Print out of this form on Rs 100/- Stamp paper, duly attested by Magistrate / Grade-1 civil judge)
  • Equivalence Certificate / NOC for candidates of all universities other then Punjab University.
  • Medical Certificate ( on letter head of Registered medical Physician)
  • 4 Pictures with blue background
  • Hafiz Quran Certificate (if candidate is Hafiz-e-Quran)

Note:
After securing admission in any of the degree programs, if you want to freeze your admission in your present degree/session, you must submit a written application in the PUCIT Admission Office in this regard. If you do not do so, your name will be considered for promotion, according to your preference order, in the next merit list.

Entry Test Schedule:

  • BS Entry Test will be held on 5th August, 2019
  • M.Sc Entry Test will be held on 4th August, 2019

Entry Test Guidelines

  • Candidate MUST bring entry test slip and original CNIC with them in the Test Centre. In case the candidate does not have his/her CNIC, he/she is required to bring his/her original secondary school certificate, Original Passport or Driving license to enter the examination hall.
  • No candidate will be allowed to enter the Test Centre without these documents.
  • B-Form or College/School ID card are not acceptable.
  • Hand bags, mobile phones, calculators etc. are NOT ALLOWED in the Examination Centre.
  • Paper Pattern and Type of Questions for BS and M.Sc Entrance Test:
  • Number of Questions: 35
  • Time Allowed: 1 Hour
  • Types of Questions: Quantitative and Analytical Reasoning

Paper Pattern and Type of Questions for MPhil & Phd (CS):

  • There will be 60 MCQs that have to be solved in 90 minutes.
  • 60% of the test will be from three core areas of computer science.
  • Theory of Automata, Data Structures, and Analysis of Algorithms.
  • The Remaining 40% of the test will comprise of quantitative/analytical questions (analytical reasoning; pattern recognition; ratios, percentages, proportions basic probability and counting).
  • Passing marks are 50% for the MPhil Program and 70% for the PhD Program.

Paper Pattern and Type of Questions for MPhil (RS & GIS):

  • There will be 60 MCQs that have to be solved in 90 minutes.
  • 60% of the test will be from the following areas of RS & GIS.
  • Introduction to GIS, Remote Sensing & Digital Image Processing, Spatial Analysis, Databases, GIS Programming (Object Oriented).
  • The Remaining 40% of the test will comprise of quantitative/analytical questions (analytical reasoning; pattern recognition; ratios, percentages, proportions; basic probability and counting).
  • Passing marks are 50%.
  • Grading Policy is that you will receive 4 mark for a correct answer, 0 mark for a wrong answer, and 1 mark for an unanswered question.
